We are pleased to announce two keynote speakers: Raewyn Peart, Policy Director, EDS; Distinguished Prof Paul Spoonley, Social scientist, Massey University. We are close to confirming the rest of the programme for this year's conference. Although our speakers are invited to talk on specific topics, the conference will have a poster session which is open to submissions from anyone. Subjects can address any aspect of impact assessment, not just the conference theme. We are particularly interested in posters from students on their research activities. Proceedings for the last five or six conferences are posted elsewhere on this website.
IAIA activities 2018 www.iaia.org
An IAIA Special Symposium will be held in October this year: The competing challenges of sustainability and economic development: Using impact assessment to achieve the SDGs in Asia Hilton Kuching, Kuching, Malaysia,1 - 3 October 2018
EIANZ activities 2018www.eianz.org
The 2018 EIANZ Annual Conference:Imagine! Environment, people, future will be held in Sydney from Wednesday 31 October to Friday 2 November 2018.
Over the next few months we will be adding resource materials to the website, under the Links and Resources menu option. The first will be resources on strategic environmental assessment (SEA), reflecting the focus both NZAIA and EIANZ have had on SEA over the last 18 months. We also intend to develop resources on cultural impact assessment, to mark an NZAIA newsletter on CuIA that will be released shortly. In due course we'll add resources on ecological IA, health IA, social IA and so forth. We are happy to hear from people looking for particular IA resources: if you need something, contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org to see if we can help.
